Spotlight: Lightly raced 3yo who resumed his progress after a gelding operation when winning a C&D handicap (soft) last month; up 5lb but he improved his record to 2-5 with that comfortable success and he still has plenty of potential; respected.

Spotlight: Won a Kempton novice on his return in March and he's been placed in four handicaps since, including when third of 22 at York (7f, good) on his penultimate run; never dangerous when third on AW at Lingfield last time but that was behind an improver who made all and he's respected on this step back up in trip.

Spotlight: Made his breakthrough at the ninth attempt when holding off the favourite in a 7f handicap here (good) two weeks ago; up 3lb for that narrow success but his confidence should be boosted and he's versatile ground-wise; shortlisted.

Spotlight: Can get it wrong at the start but he's been placed in both runs since being gelded, including a strong-finishing second in a Lingfield maiden (6f, AW) last month; on unchanged mark back in a handicap and he looks interesting back up in trip.

Spotlight: Made all in first-time cheekpieces at Lingfield (7.6f, good) in May and he's backed that up with two solid placed efforts over 7f on turf; should go well again from good draw but he needs to find something extra to get back on the scoresheet.

Spotlight: Reappeared with a win in a Leicester novice (7f, good to firm) in April; 7-2 favourite on handicap debut at Newmarket but was only sixth of 11 and was well below that form at Newbury (last of ten) last time; still unexposed but he has some questions to answer after a short break.

Spotlight: Both wins have been on Tapeta at Newcastle and he was a creditable fourth there (1m) two weeks ago; 0-8 on turf but he went close off a higher mark at Hamilton (8.3f, good to firm) in May and he's in the mix back in this sphere.

Spotlight: Progressive mare who has form figures of 123121 since March and that last win was a comfortable success over C&D (good) last month; 5lb higher from wide draw this time but she's on a roll and seems versatile regarding tactics; respected.

Spotlight: Won a maiden (6f) and novice (7f) on AW at Lingfield in April and she had a tough assignment on handicap/turf debut at Royal Ascot (1m Sandringham) last month; now takes a big drop back in class and she needs watching in the market back at this trip.

Spotlight: Two wins on Tapeta at Southwell (1m/7f) earlier this year but he's been well held in last three runs, including on stable debut at Haydock last month; now 3lb lower than for last win but has a bit to prove and this is his first run at Chester.

Spotlight: Placed in each of his three runs in France last year before changing hands for for 69,000euros; made good start for new yard when winning a Musselburgh maiden (1m, good) in April, but he flopped on his handicap debut there 17 days later; gelded since, has something to prove after that heavy defeat and this look tough from a wide draw.

Spotlight: Well treated on old form in Ireland but last win was in May 2023 and he made a low-key start for new yard at Newcastle (1m, AW) two weeks ago; finished around 7l behind Quiet Resolve in that race and others are preferred.
